Spirituality and religion

Spirituality and religion. When a person becomes aware that he is not fully dominating himself and that something else guides and controls him, he will start seeking out who or what is really controlling him. This could be due to numerous causes of happiness or suffering.

After experiencing happiness and suffering repeatedly, the human mind will start to become frustrated with or hate this life and will start to find the root cause of human existence. When the mind starts to find the root cause of human existence, the soul will join the mind to free itself from this world. In this situation, they have two paths to choose from: religion and spirituality.

Religions will be safer ways to get temporary relief from pain. When a person believes in and follows a religion or savior, he feels safe and protected. He feels more secure in his religion now that he believes more.

Humans will only seek spirituality in three major situations: one is when a person is fully satisfied with his life and seeks the root cause of his happiness; another is when a person totally hates his life and seeks the root cause of his suffering. The third situation is when a person deeply follows his region, receives self-realization, and begins to seek what is beyond religion.

Religion’s purpose is to guide, prevent wrongdoing, and teach morals to humans. However, the goal of spirituality is to liberate the human being from worldly suffering. Spirituality is not some kind of ritual or religion practiced; it is an individual process toward liberation.

Spirituality doesn’t mean looking for the supernatural or paranormal, becoming a monk, or living in the jungle. To be a spiritual person, one does not need to sacrifice his life and stay away from family and society. To live a spiritual life, all you have to do is be aware of your body, mind, soul, nature, and surroundings, and try to figure out what your life is all about.

Religions teach people to pray to God, but spirituality teaches people to know God, experience God, and be with God.
